Minecraft Simple Storage Network, Wiki & Guide

The Simple Storage Network (SSN) mod for Minecraft SkyFactory 4 is an expandable storage system that requires no power. It consists of various blocks and cables, with unique functions such as the Basic Storage Cable and the Special Cable.

Setting up the system requires a Storage Network Master, chest, Storage Link Cable, Storage Request Table, and Storage Cables.

It can be expanded by adding more chests and connecting them with Storage Link Cables, and it can be automated with Processing Cables.

This article will provide an overview of the components and cables, setup and expansion, and functionality and upgrades of the Simple Storage Network.

Components and Cables

The Simple Storage Network (SSNetwork or SSN) mod in SkyFactory 4 includes various blocks and cables with unique functions. These include the Basic Storage Cable, Export Cable, Import Cable, Processing Cable, and Storage Link Cable.

The Basic Storage Cable links components together, while the other types of cables are limited to connecting to one inventory at a time. The Crescent Hammer is used to specify which inventory to connect.

Speed, Operation, Stack, and Stock Upgrades can be added to the cables to further enhance their functionality.

Two types of Remotes are available: the Storage Remote, which allows full functionality within 64 blocks of the Storage Network Master, and the Simple Storage Remote, which grants access from unlimited distance but does not allow crafting.

The Storage Request Table allows access to items stored in the connected inventories and also has a crafting interface.

Lastly, the Controller is necessary for using Processing Cables and requesting specific amounts of items.

Setup and Expansion

Setting up and expanding the system requires a Storage Network Master, chest, Storage Link Cable, Storage Request Table, and Storage Cables. These components provide a storage system that is extendable and requires no power.

The Storage Network Master is essential and connects Storage Remotes to the network. It is also necessary for using Processing Cables and requesting specific amounts of items.

The chest is used to store items, while the Storage Link Cable connects storage inventories to the network.

The Storage Request Table allows access to items in linked inventories and has a crafting interface.

Lastly, the Storage Cables provide basic connections between components.

Necessary components for setup and expansion:

  • Storage Network Master
  • Chest
  • Storage Link Cable
  • Storage Request Table
  • Storage Cables

Functionality and Upgrades

Functionality of the system is further enhanced with Export Cables, Import Cables, Processing Cables, and upgrades. Export Cables allow users to filter items from the network and push them to other inventories with various filter options. Import Cables allow users to filter items from other inventories and pull them into the network with various filter modes. Processing Cables automate item processing and can be used for autocrafting.
