Barbatos, also known as Lord Barbatos or the God of Freedom, is an Anemo Archon of Mondstadt in the video game Genshin Impact. Being the only original member of The Seven still alive, Barbatos was originally an elemental spirit that resided within the winds.
In the past, Barbatos formed a bond with the Nameless Bard and together, they vanquished Decarabian and restored Mondstadt to its present state. Five centuries later, Barbatos re-emerged to help Vennessa in her rebellion against the Lawrence Clan and saved Dvalin from corruption.
Despite being the weakest among The Seven, Barbatos is revered by the people of Mondstadt as the God of Freedom.
This article will analyze Barbatos’ background, Venti’s role, and explore the impact of his rebellion.
Anemo Archon Background
Barbatos became the Anemo Archon after the people of Old Mondstadt placed their faith in him during their rebellion against Decarabian, the God of Storms. He and Morax are the only original members of The Seven who are still alive.
Barbatos was originally an elemental spirit that resided within the winds. He restored Mondstadt to its present state after Decarabian’s demise, and roams the world incognito as a bard named Venti. He formed a bond with the Nameless Bard in Old Mondstadt and together they fought and vanquished Decarabian.
Andrius, one of the Four Winds, conceded to Barbatos as he believed himself incapable of the love for humanity that an Archon needed to have. Barbatos reshaped Mondstadt’s terrain and climate while Andrius allowed his power to flow into the land.
He returned several months before the start of the game to assist Vennessa in her rebellion against the Lawrence Clan. With the help of Diluc and Jean, Venti eventually managed to save Dvalin from corruption.
Venti is the pseudonym taken on by the Anemo Archon of Mondstadt in order to assist Vennessa in her rebellion against the Lawrence Clan. The guise was taken on by Barbatos several months before the start of Genshin Impact, when he attempted to establish a link with Dvalin to heal him from Abyssal magic.
Unfortunately, the Traveler and Paimon interrupted him, infecting Venti with Abyssal magic and forcing him to retreat. With the help of Diluc and Jean, Venti eventually managed to save Dvalin and freedom returned to Mondstadt.
Venti also played a key role in the cataclysm 500 years ago, when he and Dvalin defeated the dark dragon Durin. Barbatos remains in Mondstadt to see the results of Vennessa’s work, and serves as a reminder of the power of freedom.
The rebellion led by Vennessa and assisted by Venti had a profound impact on Mondstadt, leading to the restoration of freedom in the city.
Venti played an integral role in the rebellion by using his powers to protect Vennessa and the people of Mondstadt. He was able to summon Dvalin to help fight against Durin, the dark dragon.
With the assistance of Diluc and Jean, Venti eventually managed to save Dvalin and restore the city to its former glory.
The successful rebellion also led to Barbatos being recognized as the Anemo Archon of Mondstadt and the God of Freedom. As a result, the people of Mondstadt began to revere Barbatos and his values of freedom and liberty.
This rebellion ultimately changed the landscape of Mondstadt and allowed the people to live in a state of freedom and peace.
